FamilyAid, Boston, Massachusetts, us, 02298

DescriptionFamilyAid is Greater Boston’s leading provider of solutions to family homelessness. Our mission is to empower parents and caregivers facing homelessness to secure and sustain housing and build strong foundations for their children’s futures. We prevent homelessness whenever possible; reduce harm if homelessness can’t be avoided by getting families stably housed as quickly as possible and mitigating trauma, especially for children; and provide wraparound supports for children and parents that foster long-term stability. Our approach works: Families in our care make significant progress towards self-sufficiency within seven months, 64% of whom are rehoused within one year with a 99% retention rate, far outperforming national averages. Most importantly, our parents report that their children are healthier and happier. We have quadrupled in size in the last five years and remain on an exciting growth trajectory to serve more than 5,000 children and parents this year. We have launched bold new strategies to reduce two-generation homelessness by deepening and increasing our prevention, housing, and supportive services for children and parents. Significant new funding powers our strategic vision of serving more families through a deepened 2 Generation approach that reduces homelessness’s cause, scope, and impact. To support these strategies, the agency seeks a dynamic and driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to successfully lead the agency in achieving its new 8-year, 2 Generation strategic vision and annual adaptive plans.Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a collaborative and strategic thought partner who can develop, coach, and lead senior program, human resources, and facilities leadership in achieving the agency’s annual and long-term goals.Externally, the COO will successfully develop and maintain positive relationships with a portfolio of critical governmental and external collaborators and funders that result in an expansion of shelter, housing, and services for both children and parents experiencing homelessness. As part of the agency’s executive team, the COO will directly support the Board of Directors program and personnel committee and assist other executive team members in supporting other board activities and meetings.FamilyAid’s supportive, collaborative, and diverse workplace is an ideal work environment for experienced, result-oriented professionals who are driven to help children and families thrive. The agency supports professional growth, and offers competitive salaries, health, and dental plans, an employer-contributed 403b retirement plan, and a generous paid time off package. To learn more about our work, please visit
