Summary
This position requires a highly motivated, self-directed individual to work for a well-respected real estate developer in a closely held corporate environment. This position will have direct responsibility for assigned files or cases and provide overall legal support to General Counsel.Essential Duties
Communicate effectively and present information, legal and otherwise, both verbally and in writing, to a variety of contacts, including senior management, business associates, outside counsel, engineers, architects, and other consultants.Possess knowledge of various aspects of real estate transactions, including real estate property acquisition, contract formation, procurement of land use entitlements, project financing and funding, leasing, out-sales, and related matters.Draft, review and negotiate various contracts, such as vendor agreements, client contracts, partnership agreements, and licensing agreements, to ensure they align with the company's interests and comply with legal requirements.Advise on employment-related legal matters, including employment contracts, terminations, discrimination claims, and workplace policies.Knowledge of corporate structures and agreements including general partner and limited partner arrangements.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Possess strong legal expertise.Excellent communication skills.Business acumen.Ability to work effectively in a corporate environment.Deep understanding of business operations.Ability to provide practical, actionable legal advice to support the company's strategic objectives while safeguarding its legal interests.Education/Work Experience
Law degree and member in good standing of the New Jersey Bar Association.Minimum of 8 years or more of applicable law practice experience preferred.Previous corporate, in-house counsel, and/or transactional experience a plus.
