The Business Operations department also works closely with all Vantage departments to ensure customer success from the construction process through daily operations and delivery activities.Position OverviewThis role can be based in any of our NA locations: Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Clara, CA; Ashburn, VA; Quincy, WA or Montreal, QC in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).Vantage is looking for an ambitious, detailed, hands-on Billing & Reporting Specialist to coordinate and streamline the utility billing and reporting process across all markets. You will lead the charge internally for us concerning the end-to- end utility billing process, making certain that monthly billing Key Performance Indicators are met. You will own all utility billing verification and approval, reporting, compliance, capital calculations, and expense-to-revenue variance analysis.Essential Job FunctionsBilling Process Coordination:Coordinate the monthly utility billing review and approval process.Coordinate the production of Sample Bills and test the validity of new billing meters in new spaces.Ensure compliance with Vantage standards and Customer leases.Work in Vantage tools to request, track, review, and approve billing.Policy and Procedure Implementation:Develop and implement written policies and procedures governing the utility billing process.Support the design and implementation of a new billing engine and lead all aspects of its successful deployment.Quality Assurance and Compliance:Plan and implement quality assurance measures for all billing processes.Verify the accuracy of monthly utility bills and raise issues to utility companies as needed.Participate in internal and external audits of the utility billing process to ensure compliance.Reporting and Analysis:Develop and use financial and statistical reports and dashboards.Create monthly Key Performance Indicator dashboards related to billing and Data Center Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE).Analyze programming changes to the customer utility billing statement templates.Conduct expense-to-revenue variance analysis and track and report capital expenses.Customer and Team Interaction:Interface regularly with the Vantage Accounts Payable and Vantage Finance teams.Engage with customers regarding the utility billing process, ensuring their needs are met and issues are resolved.Attend project meetings for construction buildouts and expansions, providing billing-related insights and updates.Process Improvement:Coordinate and streamline the utility billing process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.Conduct the planning and status meetings for billing activities.Ensure customer compliance and satisfaction with the billing process.Additional Duties:Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.Job RequirementsEducation:Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, Business management or equivalent experience required.Experience:2+ years of experience in billing or accounting required.Data Center experience is strongly preferred, but not required.Experience in contracts management, request based ticketing systems, or graphical interface reporting software is a plus.Skills:Knowledge of power metering, kilowatt-hours (kWh), and power flow dynamics.Ability to think critically, address problems and drive efficiencies using metrics and information.Skilled at problem solving, mathematics, and Microsoft Excel calculations.Proficient with statistics, and other concepts for billing operations.Responsive and flexible to succeed within a fast paced, collaborative, team environment.Successful candidate must be an excellent teammate able to work with a variety of people, across departments.Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.Physical Demands and Special RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
