Vedder Price's Chicago office is looking for a Knowledge Management Attorney. The Knowledge Management Attorney (“KM Attorney”) will work with Firm leadership, attorneys, and other Firm personnel to identify, create, and introduce internal and external-facing knowledge management solutions. The KM Attorney will specifically focus efforts on the Finance & Transactions Practice Area to implement and maintain knowledge management resources to increase efficiencies and optimize client service.As the Knowledge Management Attorney, your job duties will include but are not limited to:

Curate and create content for Firm and client use, including checklists, model documents, forms, drafting guidance, practice area resource material, templates, precedent, etc.Ensure practice area content, precedents, and resource materials are current and readily accessible on the Firm’s intranet, in the Firm’s Document Management System, and other content sharing platforms.Serve as a source of legal, market, and practical expertise; regularly review internal and publicly available transaction agreements and market studies to identify market trends.Optimize document management system organization and encourage use with standardized naming conventions, using metadata fields, defining best practices, and making shared documents easier to find.Coordinate with Firm subject matter experts to draft and update knowledge management resources, ensuring each document is accurate.Develop tools to assist in more efficiently locating content including chatbots, resource centers, comparison charts, and road maps.Evaluate whether particular technologies will improve the Firm and Practice Area’s efficiency and quality of services, whether the platform is user-friendly and something practicing attorneys will utilize, and whether it will improve profitability.Keep abreast of AI developments including available technologies, potential benefits and restrictions, and adoption trends in both legal and non-legal industries.Assist attorneys in locating practice-related internal and external knowledge resources and technologies.Gather feedback for continuous improvement of Knowledge Management products and processes.Develop workflows leveraging Practice Area resources and technologies to promote efficiency in common matter types.Provide ongoing training on Knowledge Management tools, resources, and best practices.Evaluate new and innovative Knowledge Management and research tools and resources based on Practice Area needs; participate in technology pilots and assessments.Produce and curate knowledge management reports to facilitate insights and inquiries into Practice Area and deal metrics.Skills & Competencies:

Expertise in legal drafting, writing, and analysis.Strong attention to detail.Commitment to knowledge-sharing, efficiency, and excellence in legal work.Excellent organizational and project management skills including data collection and system information; ability to compile and analyze data.Strong ability to understand and stay current on legal market trends, news, and innovations.Highly motivated and strategic business partner with the ability to understand and support Firm goals, initiatives, services, culture, and strategy.Dependable team player who can work collaboratively with others in a team-oriented environment, with the ability to work independently and display strong initiative.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Qualifications & Required Experience:

Juris Doctor Required.Minimum of five years’ experience practicing law in the F&T Practice Area, preferably in a law firm setting.Excellent organizational, planning, project management, and technical skills.Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.Computer Skills:
