Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldQualified accountant with minimum 8+ years’ post qualified employment; in a Corporate environment preferredStrong financial accounting background essential, with US GAAP experience a prerequisiteExperience in consolidation, business combinations and divestment accounting is advantageousCPA preferredStrong knowledge of US GAAP and US reporting requirementsConfidence to address and withstand challenges as they arise, while maintaining positive relationshipsDemonstrated track record of relevant management skills in a US GAAP/US reporting environmentAbility to apply a practical solutions-based approach to complex accounting issuesFlexibility and ability to multi-task within tight deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail at all timesAbility to engage multiple stakeholders with varying objectives and build strong relationshipsMust have expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookMust be 18 years in age or olderMust pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background checkStrict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee HandbookMust be willing to travel up to 20%Strong financial, accounting, and analytical skillsExcellent communication skills both written and oral, ability to communicate complex accounting issues in a clear and concise mannerStrong motivation and a high degree of initiative with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, and commercial environmentSelf-confident with strong interpersonal, organizational, and influencing skills and the ability to liaise with senior managementOrganizational skills to manage multiple deliverables and use decision-making capabilities and judgement to prioritizeEnjoy building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectivesResponsibilities

The team is a valued business partner that supports the business development and tax teams to determine the optimal structures for deals; supports local finance teams in preparing opening balance sheets for newly acquired businesses; presents at internal conferences and delivers training; and which will respond to ad-hoc US GAAP queries across the Group as they ariseProject-based work includes preparing the Group for changes in accounting policies and developing / maintaining the Group accounting manual in conjunction with key stakeholdersA priority project for the team during 2023/2024 centers around the Group’s transition to a primary NYSE listing and the related US GAAP reporting transitionTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorilyDeveloping the Group accounting manual under US GAAPResolving US GAAP accounting queries with colleagues, including the internal / monthly reporting, internal audit, tax, and treasury teams, along with divisional and operational and finance teamsCoaching and mentoring junior team membersPresenting accounting and US transition matters to a range of teams across the Group, Divisional and operating companiesActing as a business partner to different functions across the Group including Strategy & Development, divisional and operational finance teams, sustainability, innovation & venturing, procurement, technical services etc.Supporting newly acquired businesses to align with US GAAP and CRH’s accounting policiesBenefits
