Junior Staff Software Engineer

The Junior Staff Software Engineer role provides an excellent opportunity for a junior engineer to grow their technical skills, contribute to significant projects, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment.Qualifications

US citizenship required.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 4 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.2 years of experience in software development in a professional environment.Certifications in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) are beneficial.Certification or familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is a plus.Major Responsibilities

Code Development:

Participate in the development of software applications, writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code under the guidance of senior engineers.Code Review and Maintenance:

Assist in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Participate in maintaining and updating existing software systems.Testing and Debugging:

Conduct thorough testing of software components to identify and fix bugs. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure software reliability and performance.Learning and Growth:

Actively engage in learning and professional development to enhance skills in software development and stay abreast of new technologies and practices.Collaboration and Communication:

Work effectively within a team environment, collaborating with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders. Communicate clearly and effectively on project status and technical issues.Technical Documentation:

Assist in creating and updating technical documentation for software designs, development processes, and user manuals.Problem-Solving:

Apply problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and contribute to solution development under the supervision of senior staff.Agile Participation:

Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing to team agility and project management.Quality Assurance Support:

Support quality assurance processes, including writing and maintaining unit tests, to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.Project Contribution:

Contribute to project planning and estimation discussions, providing insights from a technical perspective.Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):

Engage with CI/CD tools and practices to ensure smooth and continuous delivery of software.Research and Analysis:

Conduct basic research and analysis on software development tools and methodologies to support continuous improvement in the development process.About Semper Valens Solutions
