Our team is responsible for the development of CoStar's customer-facing Real Estate Analytics products. We think big, creating innovative data-intensive applications that take the vast amount of data collected by our CoStar Research teams to create a fast, reliable, and intuitive analytics platform for our customers. We are a collaborative group with a mix of big data, API/platform, and front-end skills, and we are working to create the future of Real Estate Analytics.

We are looking for a Technical Manager to join our group and drive the full-lifecycle development of these critical products. This includes the architecture, development, and ownership of our web-based data analytics applications. This role will collaborate closely with other technical leadership, product owners and other developers, while also giving you independence and ownership of your work. As a senior member of the group, you will have the opportunity to drive the technical strategy and architecture of our platform.

This position is located in San Diego, CA and offers the following hybrid schedule option:

3 days onsite, 2 days remoteResponsibilitiesLeading a cross functional product development team to deliver amazing products to our customers, acting as a player/coach.Architecting, building, testing, and deploying scalable, reusable, and maintainable applications that handle large amounts of data.Taking full ownership of your work, from development and testing to eventual deployment and support in production.Collaborating with other engineering teams, product owners, designers, and leadership.Becoming a trusted team member in matters of technical architecture, design, and code.Advocating for evolution and improvement - both technical and non-technical - within our teams. Includes new tech, tools, and best practices.Gaining a deep understanding of the CoStar business.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or collegeA track record of commitment to prior employers8+ years of professional software development experience.5+ years’ experience building large distributed, API-driven systems.3+ years of experience leading agile teams.Significant full-stack experience, with deep expertise in either front-end (JavaScript, React, GraphQL, etc.) or back-end (C#, .NET Framework, Web API, Node, Data storage, etc.) technologies.Experience leading technical teams, working through complex requirements, and offering relevant, timely technical solutions.Strong written and verbal communication skills; Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (direct reports, peers, and senior management)Excellent team building, negotiation and consensus building abilities.Ability to motivate and build high performance software development teams.Preferred Qualifications And SkillsReal world experience designing and implementing complex application architectures on Amazon Web Services.Expertise configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Webpack, and/or Lerna Monorepo configurations.Experience with testing frameworks such as Cypress, Jest, Mocha, and Chai.Expertise building common/shared JavaScript module packages.Expertise with Analytics presentation tools like D3 and/or Google Maps API.Experience with Docker and container orchestration.Commercial Real Estate (CRE) knowledge is a bonus.What’s In It For YouWhen you join CoStar Group, you’ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed.

This position offers a base salary range of

$148,000 - $270,000 , based on relevant skills and experience and includes a generous bonus and benefits plan.
