Are you interested in being part of an international legal team passionate about delivering efficient, collaborative, and creative legal solutions to support the growth of Microsoft’s multi-billion-dollar consumer business?Microsoft is looking for an experienced attorney to join the Consumer Sales Organization legal team in the role of Corporate Counsel - Consumer Sales. Our team provides global sales and marketing legal support for Microsoft consumer products and services including Xbox consoles and games, Surface, M365 (previously Office), and Windows through Microsoft’s direct ecommerce and partner channels.This role will be based in the U.S. and will primarily support Microsoft headquarters-based teams focused on sales and marketing strategy, transactional deal work, regulatory compliance management, and developing programs and solutions that can be executed at scale. It will have a focus on Microsoft’s evolving gaming strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a global scale across business and legal teams as Microsoft continues to transform its consumer business models and product portfolios.Responsibilities

Serve as a strategic counsel, trusted advisor, and legal business partner to various sales and marketing stakeholders.Negotiate a wide variety of transactional documents relating to the distribution, sales, licensing, and marketing of Microsoft consumer products and services.Develop centralized resources and training to assist the business and in-region legal teams help grow the business at scale.Collaborate with various legal department colleagues and specialists on a variety of legal and regulatory issues, including all aspects of commercialization and launch of consumer products through Microsoft’s direct ecommerce channel and partner ecosystem; and handle escalations and resolve negotiation roadblocks in an efficient manner, within a designated turnaround time.Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Juris Doctorate Degree or Equivalent International DegreeOR Completion of a Legal Apprenticeship.Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.3+ years experience as a practicing attorneyOR equivalent practice of law.Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an in-house capacityExperience with consumer, commercial, or other technology transactions; general knowledge of anti-competition, consumer protection, marketing, privacy, and data protection laws is a plus.Experience identifying legal issues and proactively designing forward-looking solutions.Bias for action and ability to meet deadlines and prioritize activities in a fast-paced and matrixed environment.Collaboration skills and the desire and ability to work as part of a global team and with diverse groups and cultures.
