Job Description

What You'll Do

Sprinklr’s Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to join our fast growing team. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Privacy, this lawyer will primarily focus on privacy, data protection, and product and security-related legal and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global privacy laws and experience advising on and implementing data privacy compliance with cross-functional teams with a practical, risk-based approach.

We are seeking a candidate who is collaborative, self-motivated, a creative thinker and a problem solver. We are looking for someone who wants to make a big impact with cross functional partnerships and key business stakeholders, including Sprinklr’s security teams, operational functions, product and engineering teams and commercial and sales teams. The ideal candidate will embrace the opportunity to build strong relationships, raise awareness and educate on data privacy and develop privacy-forward frameworks in collaboration with these teams. This person will also have the opportunity to develop expertise and take ownership in other legal subject matter areas from a privacy point of view, such as other regulatory frameworks broadly applicable to artificial intelligence social media, marketing, and advertising.

Key responsibilities:

Serve as a subject matter expert on data privacy and provide legal advice on compliance with privacy laws, regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, and other related developments as they apply to Sprinklr’s existing business operations, products, or features.Develop, maintain, and improve upon Sprinklr’s global privacy and compliance strategy in connection with new product features and initiatives, including scalable and effective processes for providing privacy input to key business stakeholders, conducting privacy assessments on all new initiatives, developing and maintaining privacy-by-design processes, and managing related privacy compliance documentation.Manage contractual negotiations, including drafting privacy and processing agreements and negotiating DPAs.Support Sprinklr’s commercial function on privacy-related commercial matters, including drafting and reviewing privacy related contractual terms, providing advice on international data transfers, and assisting with data transfer agreements and/or cross-border data transfer due diligence (e.g., Data Transfer Impact Assessments).Partner with Sprinklr’s procurement and vendor management function to assess privacy risk for vendors and take part in vendor negotiations, including drafting and negotiating privacy-related terms with global vendors and data sources.Draft privacy notices, commercial agreements, and guides, templates, policies, procedures or playbooks to help Sprinklr maintain ongoing compliance with data protection laws.Develop and deliver role-specific privacy training and self-service resources for Sprinklr’s internal teams, as well as white papers or other content to educate Sprinklr’s customers and vendors on Sprinklr’s privacy and data protection program.Manage and respond to inquiries on Sprinklr’s data privacy compliance from customers, regulators, and data subjects.

Who You Are & What Makes You Qualified

J.D. Degree or foreign equivalent.At least 3 years legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience at a technology company (applicable regulatory or commercial counseling experience is helpful). Prefer substantive experience with:Global data privacy laws (GDPR, LGPD, PIPL, CCPA/CPRA), regulations, and industry guidelines, including those applicable for social media, communications, internet, and technology companies.Leading and implementing cross functional data privacy programs and initiatives with product, engineering, security, marketing, including fielding and advising on day-to-day questions about data privacy law.Ability to issue-spot and analyze legal issues, present positive, creative, and practical solutions that are calibrated against risk and consider business realities.Experience and comfort with prioritizing initiatives and delivering actionable and risk-appropriate advice under deadlines.Clear and collaborative communicator with an ability to see the big picture while also understanding the details and navigating to successful outcomes.Some experience and skill in drafting and negotiating data protection agreements, including mechanisms for cross border data transfers.Ability to foster and maintain good business relationships (internally and externally)Eager, flexible learner who's confident in taking initiative, handling tasks independently, and answering questions you've never faced.Meticulous attention to detail, process, and ethics.Organizational and time management skills to efficiently meet departmental and business deadlines.Ability to maintain poise and a sense of humor in stressful situations.
