Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with more than 4,000 lawyers and staff in 30 offices, is seeking a Business Analyst, Data Science to contribute to the creation of business and data analyses using technical platforms that enable case teams to efficiently manage and monitor vital information, deadlines, and documents related to their practice, clients, and matters.

Reporting to the Director of Data Science, the Business Analyst will assist in manipulating large data sets, automating data extraction processes, and developing analysis solutions using business intelligence platforms to address service reporting requirements.

Primary Responsibilities Include

Imports, cleans, transfers, validates, and models internal data and data from 3rd party sources with the purpose of understanding and drawing conclusions for business decision making purposes.Develops complex financial, business, and data analyses and reports on case data using T-SQL, Python, MS Excel, Informatica, Power BI, Qlik Sense, Splunk and other big data analytical tools.Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends using statistical techniques.Gathers requirements, generates questions and identifies issues based on supplied data sets.Creates variable-based workflows and models for processing data sets through repeated processes and retains the analysis process from data aggregation to the generation of deliverables.Works with the team to apply machine learning, and other applicable techniques, to design and prototype applications that extract understanding from text sources.Communicates findings, issues, and resolutions to stakeholders within legal, business and IT departments and practice areas.Identifies and leverages new technologies to enable analytical best practices.

Experience/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferably in Data Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field and minimum of (2) two years of experience.Proficiency in MS Excel, SQL Server, Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, SharePoint, and Python.
