What does a great Software Engineer do?
The Software Engineer consistently supports our clients to ensure issues are resolved as quickly as possible with a special attention to work quality. Effectively works on a wide variety of projects and applies existing knowledge to take on new market problems on nearly a daily basis. Successfully works in a highly collaborative environment; working with other skilled software professionals to deliver high quality software and professional support to help clients improve the way they do business.How you will provide meaningful contributions:Designing, coding, testing, implementing, documenting, and managing application software programs in APL (A Programming Language)Providing application support with existing or building new software toolsResearching problems and isolating issues discovered in production environment and developing solutions to the problems.Identifying process improvement opportunities and exploring the possibility to implement changes.Following standard practices and procedures, writing, and implementing efficient codeWorking with change/release management team to assist with deploying software tools and configurations.Closely working with peers and the customer facing operations team to triage client reported issues.Creating/Updating the technical documentation.Basic Qualifications for Consideration:BS in Computer Science or equivalentMinimum 2 years’ experience with software application developmentExperience with APL (A Programming Language) or willingness to learn a new programming language APL.An advanced understanding of computer programming concepts, data structures and algorithmsA solid understanding of software development patterns and their applicationA solid understanding of AIX/UNIX operating environments including networking, server technologies, databases, security, and performance.Knowledge of Oracle/SQLProven understanding of software engineering best practicesDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex technical and business problems quickly.Ability to be flexible with working hours to meet demands of business/clientDemonstrated ability in both written and verbal communication skillsExcellent collaboration and interpersonal skillsHave a learning mindset and is able to demonstrate versatility in addition to your specialization.Preferred Skills / Experience:A background in the financial/wealth management industry.Working knowledge of UNIX Shell Scripting.About InvestCloud:InvestCloud is the global technology leader in digital transformations for the financial services industry, supporting over $6 trillion of assets with over 550 direct clients, from wealth managers, institutional investors and asset managers to family offices, asset services companies, financial platforms, and banks.
