Job Title: Server/Microsoft Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Server/Microsoft Engineer specializing in virtualization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with VMware and other virtualization tools including Hyper V and KVM. The candidate should also have extensive experience with various Microsoft Technologies including Active Directory, Entra ID, and Intune. The candidate would be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing virtualized server and Microsoft environments to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

What you’ll do as the Server Engineer:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Design, deploy, and maintain virtualized server environments using VMware, Hyper V and KVM.Design, deploy, and maintain Windows Active Directory, Entra ID, and M365 applications.Develop and implement strategies that align with business objectives and performance requirements.Monitor and manage server operating systems, whether physical, virtual or in the cloud.Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches to virtualization software, operating systems, and underlying hardware.Optimize server performance and resource allocation in a virtualized or cloud environment.Plan and execute scaling of infrastructure to meet growing business needs.Implement and enforce security best practices within the environment.Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations.Maintain detailed documentation of the environment, configurations, and changes.Generate reports on system performance, utilization, and capacity planning.Work closely with other IT teams to integrate virtualization solutions with other systems and applications.Provide technical support and training to junior staff and end-users as needed.What you will bring to the team:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).Experience:

Proven experience as a Server Engineer or similar role with a focus on virtualization and the Microsoft family of Directories and Operating systems.Extensive experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and related VMware products.Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI) and hybrid environments.A good understanding of data center rack infrastructure, connectivity between network and servers, and cabling standards.Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of server hardware, networking, and storage technologies.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Directory products, MDM, and security-related tools.Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) are desired.Understanding of disaster recovery and backup solutions in a virtualized environment is a must.Certifications:

VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or any other relevant VMware or Microsoft Certifications are highly desirable.Soft Skills:
