Location: Fort Worth, TX

Duration: 6 month contract, possible extensions

What You’ll Get to Do:

Design and maintain data models for operational and analytical systems with input from Solution Architects and Business Analysts.Design and maintain data schemas for event/message publishing and integration.Design and maintain data schemas for NoSQL platforms.Ensure data decisions are consistent and best practices are adhered to.Ensure data definitions, metadata management, business glossary, and data lineage are kept up to date and accessible.Champion enterprise data policies, procedures, and standards.Provide mentoring to team members.What You Need:

5 years data modeling experience.Experience at gathering and documenting requirements and translating them into data models.Experience in designing logical and physical relational data models.Designing data model structures for reuse.Experience with analytical modeling; Inmon and/or Kimball modeling techniques.Experience designing NoSQL data models using XML Schema (XSD), JSON Schema, and Avro.Experience adhering to data naming standards and writing good data definitions.Solid knowledge of Data Governance and Management Concepts (MDM, Data Quality).Experience in both waterfall and agile development practice.Demonstrate critical thinking, analytical skills, and employ judgment to offer thoughtful, concise input toward resolutions of problems.Pay attention to detail and is meticulous in their work.More:

Fluency in writing SQL.Design experience with Databricks Delta Lake and Teradata.Experience in designing data models for NoSQL environments such as Kafka, Cassandra, MarkLogic, and MongoDB.Basic understanding of REST API resources.Experience with data modeling tools such as PowerDesigner and Hackolade.Knowledge of the railroad and/or freight transportation industry.Experience with working with GitHub repositories is highly desirable.
