Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Run engaging, effective classroom trainings for craft laborer, operator, and electrical apprentices based on a set curriculum (mostly comprised of NCCER trainings)Effectively facilitate both classroom training and OJTConduct routine assessments and ensure all employees can master the material (with additional support from trainer if needed)Provide supports to ensure success for all employees, including those with learning differences or who speak languages other than English.Review and customize training materialsPrepare for daily training sessions, including all necessary materials and technologyIntegrate hands-on learning and other supplements into classroom trainingsUse tools, physical learning aids, and other supplements to support employee learningEvaluate trainings and implement improvementsGrade employee work and track progressPerform competency evaluations and otherwise assist with onboarding and processing for the apprenticeship programHold office / makeup hours on a regular basisRegularly communicate and collaborate with site, training, and apprenticeship teamsManage training and apprenticeship related documentsAttend daily morning meetings with site leadership teamBuild positive relationships with apprentices, leadership, and other employees on siteRegularly receive and implement feedback on training and job performanceAttend professional development sessions and other trainingsEvaluate overall training effectiveness across the job siteAssist employees with training technology (eg, laptops / tablets)Collect and send training evaluations and other documentation to training/apprenticeship teamsAssist with other training needs across the site, including safety and quality trainingsOther tasks as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GEDValid driver's license3-5+ years' experience in construction, specifically craft labor, equipment operation, and/or electricalStrong initiative and willingness to learn and grow in new skill areas, including new technologies, Learning & Development skills, and industry/training certifications & best practicesHighly organized person who can use planning and processes to support daily workProficient with Microsoft Office products - Powerpoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.Proficient in navigating online websites / resources (eg, NCCERconnect)Positive people skills and pleasant demeanorPunctual & dependableExcellent skills in time management, working autonomously, creative thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and both verbal and written communicationAble to gain and maintain attention while training and presentingPassion for helping and leading othersAbility to operate media equipment such as projectors, iPads, and personal computers
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in training or educationExperience in PV Solar InstallationExperience in electrical activities on a utility construction scaleCertified in OSHA 510 (Standards for the Construction Industry), NABCEP, and/or NCCERPrevious experience in training and / or educationProficient in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole
