Job Summary: Under limited supervision, carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet minimum company standards and end user requirements. Thoroughly tests software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. Documents all problems and works to resolve them; reports progress on problem resolution to management. Devises improvements to current procedures and recommends quality improvements. Viable candidates must be willing to work onsite at GSI's headquarters in Palm Harbor, Florida daily. Key Responsibilities:Understanding of Quality Methodology and process creation in an IT environmentAbility to develop Test Cases and Test Scripts for the large software modulesExperience and understanding of software code. Can work with development team members to diagnose issuesKnowledgeable with SQL Enterprise Manager and TSQLAbility to write intermediate SQL queries including joins and unionsExperience with backend database testingAssess functionality and be a knowledgeable resource of several Software applications for the teamTest all software releases from development departmentAbility to test multiple software projects concurrentlyDocument and track all software defectsEvaluation and assignment of all trouble tickets to development team membersReview and assist in the creation of software documentation in conjunction with the technical writerDepending on project size, may be required to be on multiple Team/Projects Adhere to company policiesConduct to reflect professional attitude and actionsOther duties and special projects as assignedRequirementsWork Experience / Knowledge:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, which are used with team members and clients in the form of formal training, mentoring, and presentationsUtilization of Microsoft SQL Enterprise ManagerAbility to read stored proceduresWork with developers and DBAs on test projectsUtilization of defect tracking tools (BugTracker, DevTrack, Quality Center, etc)Ability to read and test software specificationsAbility to meet goals and deadlinesAbility to read code (SQL, ASP, .Net, VB, JavaScript) a plusKnowledge of SharePoint a plusKnowledge of Source Control Applications and Software Configuration Management promotion processes a plusExperience testing Web Services a plusExperience with mobile applications a plusExperience with interface testing a plusExperience with DTS testing a plusQualifications / Certifications:Associate degree5 years of Software testing experience or, Equivalent combination of education and experienceIntermediate SQL KnowledgeSpecial Requirements:Testing methodologies and theoryMicrosoft SQL Server TSQL knowledgeWindows Operating Systems knowledgeMicrosoft Office proficiencyInternet TechnologiesDevelopment defect tracking toolsSoftware life cycle knowledgeWeb-based applicationsLabor Market Information & National Employment SystemsEqual Opportunity Employer.
