The
Imports and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overall supply chain (production, procurement and logistics) operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. This role will track inventory and orders as well as forecast future supply needs, coordinate all import shipments, including analyze, manage and plan the company’s purchasing and import processes to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage, consolidate and coordinate movement of Imported Ocean containers Receive shipping documents from overseas factories and confirm accurate item, purchase order information Work closely with transportation providers ensuring efficient and effective execution of defined processes. This includes obtaining shipping space, confirming shipment ETA’s, reviewing routing, confirming shipping line, government agencies and port releases, scheduling delivery appointments, dispatching orders and confirming empty container return Provide early identification of problem shipments. Communicate/resolve with stakeholders and coordinate/implement solutions Ensure import documentation is submitted to customs brokers for ocean and air shipments Check status of shipments and ensure customs and freight is cleared Arrange delivery of shipments from port to warehouse as directed by Warehouse Manager Audit the 7501 Customs entry summary for each assigned shipment. Ensure accuracy of information based on established procedures Proper use of HTS codes Negotiating freight rates with transportation providers, targeting cost reduction, freight savings and service. Other daily duties as assigned by leadership Qualifications: 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain environment: production/procurement/logistics. Bachelor's degree; comparable work experience is accepted in lieu of degree Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking. Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize. Strong interpersonal skills, previous management experience Strong verbal and written communication skills. Creative problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to work under pressure. Assertive and cooperative with ability to motivate others to succeed. Must have strong time management, multi-tasking and initiative and drive Computer proficiency required, OMS knowledge a plus. Must be able to operate Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products effectively (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
