Under the direction of the EHS Manager, the Environmental, Health and Safety Site Manager will be responsible for providing direction and support in federal and state regulatory matters to the area managers, supervisors, and safety committee members. This position will provide guidance and coordination of day-to-day regulatory requirements.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesImplements and maintains all written programs, completing and documenting hazard surveys, training, testing, inspection logs, certifications, calibrations, scheduling of recurring events, specification of PPE, labeling, and annual effectiveness reviews.Responsible for the maintenance and development of all written programs for all applicable OSHA and TCEQ standards.Maintains all records and documentation related to the Safety Program.Maintains OSHA 300, 301, and 301A logs.Maintain RCRA requirements.Maintain coating logs for NSR Air Permit.Familiarity with Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTO).Conduct incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.Trains all levels of the organization in their roles and duties regarding the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.Makes engineering recommendations on hazard reduction and elimination such as guarding, ventilation, etc.Implements and maintains First Aid program and supplies.Documents and posts required documents and measurements such as OSHA required posters, issued compliance letters, incident rate, days worked since lost time incident, and related EHS KPIs.Maintain a visible presence in the production environment while ensuring adherence to OSHA/TCEQ regulations.Schedule regular walkthroughs of the shop floor to ensure that safety protocols are being followed and to address any concerns firsthand.Foster a culture of safety while building strong relationships with our team members.Mentoring of area managers/supervisors on OSHA/TCEQ requirements and company safety practices.Conduct facility audits and corrective actions (root cause) pertaining to OSHA and TCEQ standards to ensure regulatory compliance.Ensure that all incidents are reported, documented on incident forms, and acceptable corrective action is addressed immediately.Administer new employee orientation on company safety policies and procedures prior to starting work.Regular review of all applicable legislative standards to ensure regulatory compliance.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications & Required SkillsQualifications include:5-7 years of safety program management in an industrial setting, preferably in woodworking technology.10- and 30-hour OSHA training certificate.Bachelor’s degree in related field of science or equivalent experience.Ability to demonstrate the application of root cause analysis.Ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessments/job hazard analysis.Ability to demonstrate the application of NSR permit requirements.RCRA/DOT certificate/knowledge.Knowledge of TCEQ STEERS website.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
