HP’s Digital and Transformation Organization (D&TO) is focused on building world-class digital capabilities, and our Data Science team is responsible for leading the development of data science models to support that vision. Whether it’s improving our ability to do demand planning & forecasting or better understanding the behavior of our partners & customers, in this role you will be empowered to work across a range of areas and use cases, leveraging your expertise with machine learning and/or statistics modeling to deliver value.Responsibilities

Leverages structured and unstructured data to build and deploy machine learning or statistical models.Partners with more senior team members to make optimal modeling decisions in order to achieve business objectives.Interacts on a frequent basis with working teams across the organization in order to embed models into value-driving solutions.Is able to communicate results, insights, and potential risks to both team leadership and stakeholders.Collaborates and communicates with the project team regarding project progress and issue resolution and suggests changes or improvements.Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of statistics and machine learning, specifically regression, classification, and time series methods.Ability to translate real-world problems into questions that can be answered via data science models.Extensive experience working with Python and SQL; experience in software development a plus.Ability to deliver value even when faced with imperfect situations.Experience communicating technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.Scope & Impact

Collaborates with peers, junior engineers, data scientists, and project teams.Typically partners with high-level Individual Contributors and Managers.Supports projects requiring data engineering solutions expertise.Education & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent.Typically 2-4 years’ experience including graduate or postgraduate research.
