St. Louis, MO law firm is seeking an experienced full-time AttorneyOur client is a growing civil litigation defense firm in search of a litigation attorney to handle complex litigation. The attorney will be responsible for examining legal documents to determine the legal strategies of clients, advising clients on legal matters, drafting legal documents such as responsive pleadings, motions, discovery, and jury instructions, and representing clients in court proceedings. The attorney will also be responsible for conducting legal research and monitoring legal developments that could impact the field of practice.Qualifications

2-3 years of experience preferredJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, top 1/3 preferredAdmission to the bar in the state of Missouri and/or IllinoisExcellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload, and work effectively under tight deadlinesExperience in civil litigation, construction defect defense and/or professional liability preferred but not requiredStrong knowledge of legal research software such as LexisNexis and WestlawExperience taking depositions and appearing in courtResponsibilities

Communicates with clients in order to keep them informed of all developments related to their case, including direct correspondence and reports.Prepares legal documents including discovery documents, discovery motions, dispositive motions, pre-trial pleadings, other pleadings and briefs required throughout the life of the case.Gathers evidence, conducts research, interviews clients and witnesses, prepares legal briefs, and develops strategy, arguments, and testimony to formulate defense or to initiate legal action on behalf of the client.Attends and assists at trials.Researches legal issues and prepares memorandums.Plans and prepares for various aspects of a trial including witness examination, opening statement, trial motions, exhibits, and jury instructions.Prepares witnesses for deposition or trial, including preparation on issues to be addressed and reviewing significant documents.Location:
