Salary:
$95,000 - $150,000 per year

Job Details:
Must have good knowledge of insurance and tort law with experience in all aspects of civil litigation. Will handle cases from client intake through resolution and be responsible for all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents, arguing motions, attending depositions, arbitrations and trials. Experience working for an insurance defense firm is a plus. Should be organized and have the ability to read and understand medical records. Must be a member of the Rhode Island Bar. Being a member of the MA bar is a plus.
Currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, tort law, and insurance law, and must be a member of the Rhode Island Bar. This position offers an exciting opportunity to handle complex litigation matters, represent clients in court, and provide legal advice to clients on a range of civil litigation matters. With at least three years of experience, the candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
Represent clients in all phases of civil litigation, including pre-trial procedures, pleadings, discovery, and trial.
Conduct research to properly advise clients on legal rights and responsibilities.
Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements.
Negotiate settlements for legal disputes in a manner that best protects the client's interests.
Comply with all legal standards and regulations, including the Rhode Island Bar's code of ethics.
Develop and implement litigation strategies, taking into consideration the specific circumstances of each case.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation.
Current membership with the Rhode Island Bar.
Extensive knowledge of civil litigation, tort law, and insurance law.
Proven track record of representing clients in court and achieving favorable outcomes.
Excellent negotiation, research, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases with varying deadlines and priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and act decisively.
High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
Proficiency with legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
