Proposal Specialist

Reingold, a full-service marketing and communications firm in Alexandria, Virginia, is hiring a super-sharp proposal writer to develop and submit proposals for government, commercial, and nonprofit clients. We require a smart, organized, and obsessively conscientious administrator and writer, with at least four years of direct experience in this field.You'll join a fun and hardworking proposal team that is critical to the client work of our firm's marketing, design, digital, and writing experts. This team responds to a high volume of requests for proposals (RFPs) each month, ranging from lengthy federal government RFPs with detailed requirements to short project summaries for small associations. This position is hybrid, 2 days/week in our Alexandria, VA office. We are open to remote work if you're the right candidate and located outside of the Washington, DC metro area.You can expect the following tasks in your day-to-day work:Produce a high volume of written content that showcases our firm's differentiators and aligns with our business strategy for proposal responses.Track the latest versions of approved proposal language, past performance summaries, and staff resumes.Define and ensure the completion of all proposal deliverables (forms, project summaries, process figures, staffing charts, etc.).Help ensure that proposed pricing is consistent with the technical solution.Coordinate the full life cycle of proposal development: from a go/no-go decision through outlining, gathering and writing content, and submission.Scour RFPs for any requirements (deadlines, page limits, formats, attachments, notarizations, delivery specs).Guide and partner with proposal, consulting, and contract administration teams to develop and package thorough, efficient, timely, and consistently well-written responses.Track team schedules to ensure adequate coverage of all proposal elements at all times.Collaborate with our design team to create proposal graphics, charts, and tables.Oversee proposal packaging and delivery by email, by overnight mail, or in person.Maintain our internal proposal tracker for proposal values, wins/losses, and evaluator feedback.This role is a good fit for someone with the following qualifications and skills:4 or more years of experience, preferably in a professional services firm, including 2 years of proposal writing.Patience and intellect to fully grasp the sometimes-arcane requirements of government RFPs.Portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate both finesse and clarity.Rave reviews as a perfectionist with brains, initiative, total reliability, great people skills, and a sense of humor.Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.Experience with federal contracting, especially for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a plus.Bonus points for experience writing proposals for communications, marketing, or IT contracts.Note:
