Independently analyzes data and assists with research and program evaluation to advance and inform literacy policies (e.g., dyslexia support laws, third grade reading guarantee, high-quality instructional materials, science of reading-related policies) and provides consultation to the Unit of Literacy Achievement and Reading Success.Analyzes data utilizing statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, mPlus);Assesses the quality, limitations, and utility of available data and research;Collaborates across multiple offices to identify crossover research topics or data between the Literacy unit and other offices (e.g., Office of Research, Evaluation and Advanced Analytics, Office of Assessment and Office for Exceptional Children);Creates data visualizations and tables (e.g., Microsoft Office, Tableau, PowerBI);Writes reports and prepares presentations using data visualizations and analyses;Collaborates with the Literacy unit leadership team to inform policy and program decisions;Communicates results using multiple media for broad audiences (e.g., technical information to non-technical stakeholders);Writes technical reports or other briefing documents summarizing research and analysis findings;Participates and/or leads team in ensuring psychometric and consequential validity/integrity of assessments;Reviews item statistics for bias and sensitivity;Conducts power analyses and writes analytical methods.Performs other duties as assigned:Data cleaning, verification, and validation;Facilitates data-oriented meetings;Represents the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce at conferences and other external meetings;Keeps current on literacy research and relevant evaluation studies;Collaborates with intra-agency personnel regarding research integrity and validation;Attends meetings, conferences, and/or workshops on education data;Reviews data provided by vendors, contractors, and data managers.What’s In It For You
