Intake Counselor

assesses the needs of potential patients and facilitates the admission process; maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.Join our team and discover a rewarding, fulfilling career. Brentwood Hospital is a 260-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment facility located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Brentwood has served Louisiana, East Texas, and South Arkansas for more than 45 years. We provide quality services to children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. We help individuals and families achieve optimal mental health, resulting in improved quality of life. A dedicated professional team provides individualized treatment, meeting the personal needs of our patients in a safe and nurturing environment.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Responds to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.Conducts clinical assessments; utilizes appropriate clinical forms during assessment; develops sound knowledge of applicable criteria; provides a comfortable caring approach to clients.Documentation reviews show that forms, notes, and other applicable written information have been completed promptly and accurately.We offer comprehensive benefits for the

Master's Degree in Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.), or RN - preferably BSN.Experience:

1-2 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.Licensure/Certification:

Licensed Louisiana RN, LCSW, LMSW, LPC, PLPC preferred.Schedule:
