CNA currently has an opportunity for an Underwriting Technician to join our Private Non Profit team supporting our US offices.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:Within designated authority and following established procedures, performs routine selection, evaluation, and pricing of the least complex risks.Assists underwriters by communicating with agencies on routine matters.Requests underwriting and/or state mandated requirements, based on guidelines.Performs data entry of insurance application, including verification of information provided and compliance to state requirements.Issues and assembles policies upon receipt of underwriter approval.Upon request from underwriters, processes cancellations, declinations and reissues of policies.Upon request from underwriters, may review underwriting requirements and may recommend acceptance or denial utilizing preset procedures.May provide assistance and/or training to other Underwriting Technicians.May assist in special project work.May update the underwriting system.Reporting RelationshipSupervisor or Manager

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of policy processing procedures and documentation.Knowledge of applicable insurance products.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work at high levels of productivity and quality.Ability to work independently on multiple tasks.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.Education and Experience

High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience. Some college preferred.Typically a minimum three years of related work experience in an office environment.
