Position Spotlight:Denver, CO based in-house legal counsel role focused on products, privacy, licensing, and data security.Relocation is available for this role.Work with Cochlear business partners around the globe to a variety of legal issues.Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S. and in Colorado (or must be willing to obtain single-client certification within 12 months).About the roleAs Cochlear continues to grow and service our customers, we are seeking a Product Counsel to join our legal team in our North American head office in Lone Tree, Colorado. This role offers a flexible hybrid work environment with a combination of in-office and remote work from home.

To be successful in this role you'll be able to serve as a front-line commercial attorney for Cochlear's product managers and operations specialists who develop, launch, and constantly improve our implantable devices and related technology. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, and as a contributing member to the broader Legal Team, you'll work collaboratively with a variety of different teams responsible for furthering Cochlear's technology solutions, including marketing, operations, sales, IT, clinical, and health economics.

Key ResponsibilitiesKey focus areas of responsibility are Legal Compliance, Regulatory Adherence, Privacy and Security Assessment, Risk Management and Mitigation and Compliance Processes and Systems.Serve as the Legal Team's in-house expert and front-line attorney advising Cochlear's product managers, operations specialists, and marketing and sales teams who develop, launch, and improve Cochlear's products.Serve as the Cochlear North America's first point of contact for legal matters involving Cochlear's products and services, including but not limited to information security agreements, licensing terms, and HIPAA-related transactions.Identify and resolve a wide range of legal issues, including licensing, data privacy and security, litigation risk, working directly with in-house business partners in North America and around the globe.Fosters and leads relationships with technology partners across the global business relating to and in support of Cochlear's legal technology, serving as legal representative for transformation projects and implementation.Key RequirementsTo add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to meet and demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in your application and at interview:Licensed to practice law in the U.S., license to practice in Colorado, or willingness to obtain single-client certification within 12 months.5-7 years of experience with a law firm, in-house, or a combination of both, practicing in a regulated field such as healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, life sciences, software, manufacturing, or technology.Strong preference for certification in information privacy (CIPP/US/C/E)Preference for at least 3 years of experience working with legal and enterprise technologies such as contract lifecycle management, matter management, workflow automation, document management, knowledge management, and eBilling.Effective organizational, problem solving, verbal and written communications skills.Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.Inquisitiveness, along with the ability to spot issues and formulate plans to address them.Total RewardsIn addition to the opportunity to develop your knowledge and grow professionally, we offer competitive wages and benefits.

The Target Salary Range for this role is $135,000 - $165,000 per year based upon experience as well as an annual bonus of 15% of base salary.
