We are hiring a

Health and Safety Consulting Associate / Senior Associate

in the

Southern California

to help our growing local and global clients address a wide array of occupational Safety and Health challenges in the following areas:

RESPONSIBILITIES:Providing onsite client support to help solve their most pressing EHS challenges.Assist global innovative companies develop solutions to complex technical and regulatory issues and concerns.Perform safety risk assessments/analyses, inspections, and observations as part of implementing effective EHS programs, procedures, practices, and standard work to ensure regulatory compliance and protect personnel and the environment.Help develop and implement innovative EHS programs and strategies in the areas of Hazard Communication (HazComm), Injury Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP), Chemical Management, Occupational Health, Safety Management Systems, Process Safety and Risk Management (PSM), Industrial Hygiene, and technical support.Support EHS communication in various client environments, while assuring safe operating procedures are implemented and followed.Investigate accidents, incidents, or issues, identifying and/or implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Enable our clients’ business objectives and become an extension of their EHS team.Manage a variety of tasks to achieve scope, budget and schedule targets while ensuring we meet and exceed our clients' expectations on deliverables.Build strong collaborative relationships with our clients and other ERM employees.Work with project team to effectively implement assignments for client.Assist with collection, review, and analysis of field data to evaluate conditions, present information, and implement effective solutions.Participate as an enthusiastic team member on various project teams and effectively complete assignments.Develop an understanding of how your work affects our clients’ business objectives and help them achieve these objectives.Ensure quality standards on project deliverables and correspondence.Collect building material samples for analysis of hazardous materials including asbestos, lead, PCBs, etc. following regulatory requirements and industry standards.Oversee assessment, abatement, and disturbance/handling of hazardous materials and be able to document and assist writing technical reports of activities and sampling.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Willingness to travel to and be at client site(s) for up to 40 hours/week primarily within the Southern California and have Valid Driver’s License.Bachelors’ Degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related science degree and/or work experience (2 years of experience is equivalent to 1 year education).Up to 1 year of relevant experience in working with significant private-sector clients.Working understanding of relevant local, state and federal regulations and how they apply to specific industries.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments (tasks and deliverables) concurrently.Organized, analytical, detail-oriented, problem-solver, has project management skills and strong focus on results, and ability to work independently.Ability to effectively participate in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and diverse environment, where support responsibilities may be shared.Ability to effectively communicate and send clear, concise, and consistent messages, both verbally and written, with team members, leadership, and client customers including presenting tangible information to management.Cal/OSHA Certified Site Surveillance Technician or Certified Asbestos Consultant Certification required.California Department of Public Health lead inspector/assessor or lead sampling technician required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:CHST/OHST/ASP/CSP/GSP/AHMM certifications or similar qualifications / experience highly desirable but not required.Bachelors’ Degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related science degree and/or work experience (2 years of experience is equivalent to 1 year education).Knowledge of California state and local EHS regulations as well as best practices.Ability to work independently and in a team setting, with guidance and direction.Good team player, especially during challenging situations.Strong work ethic with a passion to learn, grow, and thrive.Effectively and succinctly communicate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.

For the

Health and Safety Consulting Associate

position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $62,391 – $68,881. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).

Benefits Eligibility is limited to Regular employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week.
