What We Do
The Navigation team develops and operates web services powering virtually all of Mapbox’s strategic navigation initiatives in consumer, automotive, and logistics. This is a highly multidisciplinary team, with work spanning distributed systems on AWS to geospatial localization, traffic telemetry, and mapping.
What You'll Do
Understand deeply the strengths and gaps of the engineering team, work with leaders to maximize the team’s outputProvide strategic direction and innovation in the design and implementation of the guidance suite of capabilitiesManage and develop the team through hiring, retaining, mentoring, and continually building the team’s capabilitiesDrive company, product, and team objectives, carrying your team along in the decision-makingWork closely with product to figure out what our customers need, and develop a strategic plan to address their painFoster a culture of collaboration, innovation, inclusion and data-driven decisions on the teamHelp your team members and direct reports learn new skills, either through your own guidance or by proactively finding them mentorsDevelop the long-term business strategy and drive the team’s work productWhat We Believe Are Important Traits For This Role
