As a Director - Government Data Scientist at Moody’s Analytics, you can use your skills and experience to support a mission and use data for good.We need a Government Data Scientist to empower government agencies to master their data and use it to achieve better, faster mission outcomes for the nation.Must have security clearanceJob Responsibilities:Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through analysis and visualization of large data sets.Construct usable data sets from multiple sources to meet customer needs.Data analysis and model-fitting to reveal data features of interest.Deployment of AI/machine-learning and predictive modeling capabilities.Identifying and analyzing anomalous data (including metadata).Develop conceptual design and models to address mission requirements.Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, business intelligence tools, including Qlik and Tableau, scripting languages such as SQL, Python, and R, and the Microsoft Office Suite.Develop qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing datasets in various states.Utilize scientific inquiry in the independent development of mathematical models and computer programs to evaluate and predict the ability to support assigned projects, studies, or problems.Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.Apply consulting skills and data analytics experience by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on audience.Qualifications and Experience Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science or related fields if accompanied by a Certificate in Data Science from an accredited college/university.10+ years of relevant experience.3+ years of experience with data visualization tools, including Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI.3+ years of experience with data modeling and building dashboards and data visualizations.Experience with database systems, SQL queries, and programming languages, including R or Python.The ideal candidate has a desire for continual learning along with excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills who is: accountable, proactive, detail-oriented, able to solve complex problems, proficient with critical thinking and reasoning to make analytic determinations, effective at working in a collaborative team environment, and able to bridge the gap with both technical and non-technical audiences.Knowledge, skills, and relevant experience in one or more of the following is required: designing and implementing machine learning, data mining, advanced analytical algorithms, programming, data science, advanced statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, computational science, software engineering, and data engineering.Knowledge of national-level intelligence and defense doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s).Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified material.Skill in applying analytical and evaluation techniques to identify, investigate, resolve complex issues or problems, and modify standard practices and techniques to solve complex interrelated problems; skill, judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to foresee the impact of changing technology.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in order to produce highly technical reports, position papers, and briefings, resolve conflicts based on mature judgment and experience, effectively negotiate complex issues, and maintain good working relationships.For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
