Boston Dynamics is a world leader in mobile robots, and is introducing a new generation of mobile robot products. Stretch is our first robot purpose-designed for the warehouse. Stretch is a flexible mobile robot that unloads boxes from trucks and shipping containers automatically, and will be able to tackle a wide range of case handling tasks in the future. As a Technical Project Manager supporting the Stretch development team, you will lead the identification of risks internal to the development teams’ plans, elevate and advertise these risks, and track progress towards their resolution. You will create high level status reports for communicating with both executives and the broader company-wide technical community. You will have the opportunity to establish and optimize processes across the Stretch organization.

How You Will Make An ImpactWork across multiple teams to build and track comprehensive project plans that account for the complex interdependencies inherent in robotics, including managing scope, identifying risks, estimating workloads, defining schedule milestones, and tracking cross-functional efforts throughout the development process.Reinforce a team culture of collaboration, accountability, and trustworthy communication across multiple teams and stakeholders.Develop and champion processes for efficiency and scale in our organization.Communicate regularly on status, schedule, risks, and change control.Coordinate hardware, software, manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams to ramp production, improve reliability, and improve quality.Work directly with program leads to bring new concepts from concept to reality.Define multi-year program plans, work with functional leads to establish and track key milestones, deliverables, and dates.

What You BringBS or higher in Engineering or Technical Related Field (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, etc) or equivalent work experience.Strong communication skills, including the ability to distill complex technical information into concise, easily understood formats; presentations, white papers, and status updates.5+ years of prior experience in project management on a complex shipping product, preferably with hardware and software elements.Deep experience interacting with all elements of the Product Design and New Product Introduction process including design engineering stages, verification and validation, compliance, quality engineering, manufacturing logistics, and marketing.Creative spark and technical capabilities to chart paths for new technologies.Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders (both technical and non-technical).Proven capacity to leverage an array of project management tools, methodologies, and techniques throughout all phases of the product life cycle. This includes Google Suite, JIRA/Atlassian Products, JAMA, etc.

Nice To HaveDirect experience with production and manufacturing operations.Hands-on experience in developing public-facing emerging technology.Broad technical background and understanding of robotics systems at a product level.
