Our magnificent 250-acre desert resort features 487 rooms and 60,000 square feet of meeting space.Responsibilities:Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication.Recruit, interview, hire, train, and recommend performance evaluations for staff.Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and HEI standards of performance are met.Compile and direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department.Handle all marketing strategy development, brand management, digital marketing, and advertising.Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends.Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.Initiate preparation of computerized annual business plan and execute plans as outlined.Organize and/or attend scheduled sales department and related meetings.Direct and manage all group, transient, and catering/banquet sales activities.Prepare, implement, and compile data for the strategic sales plan and other reports.Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events.Oversee departmental matters as they relate to federal, state, and local employment laws.Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.5-10% travel required yearly.This role will report directly to the Regional Director of Sales and General Manager.Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements:5+ years of sales leadership in a similar sized operation preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.Knowledge of computer accounting programs and budgetary analysis/management capabilities.Extensive knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, and training of managers.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to stand and move throughout the hotel property and perform essential job functions.This company is an equal opportunity employer.
