The role you’ll contribute:
The Senior Accountant manages planning, coordination, and administration of complex and significant accounting activities.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Prepares and reviews complex and significant journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and subsidiary ledgers
Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses
Prepares complex and significant audit and/or tax work papers. Assists with paperwork associated with the annual audit
Analyzes and reconciles timely project budgets for both operating and capital budgets
Reports organization's finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts
Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
General accounting principles and procedures applied in a complex medium to large corporate environment
Balance Sheet Reconciliations including researching and proposing resolution to outstanding variances
Complete understanding of double entry accounting
Competency in use of personal computer applications and spreadsheet analysis
Competency in using Microsoft Excel Pivot tables, lookup functions, and subtotals
Ability to handle many tasks and projects at one time
Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
Analytical and organizational abilities
Must be able to read, write, speak and have good comprehension of conversational English
Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
Proficient working independently
Knowledge of current Accounting general ledger software
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Health care specific accounting principles and procedures
General Ledger Financial Systems
Healthcare specific governmental reimbursement and regulatory principles
Experience in preparation and filing of external tax reports
Knowledge of Healthcare Revenue Recognition and Analysis
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Two years of technical experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Three years of technical experience
Master's degree in Business related field
