Bilingual Case Manager

Under the supervision of the Community Resource Center Director, CRCCaseManagers are responsible for providing attentive and empathic case management services to our community members experiencing financial hardship or housing insecurity. Daily work duties include:Listening to and providing care to clientsAssessmentsProcessing financial aid applications for housing assistance and utility bill payment assistanceData collection and entryConnecting unhoused clients to housing optionsOutreach tasks at local eventsLinkage to other community support services and resourcesManaging and running food pantry eventsThese services are provided in person and over the phone at our office and potentially other locations where we interact with clients.Many of our clients are experiencing very difficult hardships, especially those impacted by COVID-19. Case managers must assist with a trauma-informed and client-centered approach. Having a passion for the helping and social services field is a critical component for this position. Because this organization is providing services during a uniquely difficult time for the community and the team, it is necessary to practice self-care and stress management.Salary Range:

$25.00 to $26.00 per hourMinimum Qualifications

21+ years oldA bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experienceAt least 2 years of experience in providing direct services to low-income communities and/or people requiring emergency servicesBilingual skills in English and SpanishExperience working with monolingual/bilingual Spanish speaking clientsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skillsAbility to work calmly in crisis situations and in an environment that can be loud and fast-pacedStrong multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity to the stresses of individuals and families living with insecure housing, homelessness, and scarcityAbility to exemplify leadership skills with team that facilitate the growth of the program and its membersAbility to prioritize, problem-solve and work in a fast-paced and busy environmentExperience with de-escalation techniquesAbility to work effectively in a teamProficiency with Office 365 (Word & Excel), system databasesMust have reliable transportationPreferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related specialtyAll employees working with the YMCA are considered to have supervisory or disciplinary action relationship over minors.
