Job Description:
Data Architect/Engineer
in Annapolis, MD (Hybrid).
Key Skills:
Data Architecture/ Engineering, ETL, XML, SQL Server, Python, SSIS/ ADF, Power BI, Tableau.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and experience with ETL tools, Visual Studio, and transmitting and reconstructing XML and SQL.Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python, with the ability to automate repetitive tasks in Azure.Excellent communication and mentoring skills.Ability to write optimized SQL queries and manage databases.Knowledge of BI best practices, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, and reporting techniques.Experience designing and building BI solutions, monitoring performance, and addressing data integrity issues.Experience designing and implementing database models and ETL procedures for data intake.Advanced experience with SQL Server 2016 or above, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and stored procedures.Proficiency in dimensional modeling techniques and Azure's architecture for optimized data workflows.Exposure to tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and One Lake.
Roles and Responsibilities:Participate in all aspects of DW and ETL process design, creation, and specification.Understand the client data structure and star schema models, creating a logical warehouse data design.Collaborate with the platform administration team to design an ETL process for data movement.Document system requirements and manage development, facilitating knowledge transfer.Assist in the development/implementation of ETL tools and conduct testing of tools and data pipelines.Develop effective DW models representing data entities based on functional analytic, reporting, and bulk data requirements.Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data warehouse architecture development and compliance with regulatory standards.
