Position Summary:The Director, Development is responsible for raising revenue, creating partnerships, recruiting volunteers and securing sponsorships in support of the Chapters’ Walk to End Alzheimer’s®,

The Longest Day events and other initiatives, to meet or exceed the goals of the Chapter.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the fastest-growing walk program in the country, ranking as the second-largest peer-to-peer fundraising event in the United States. The Longest Day program is the Chapter’s second largest mass market signature event.Measurable outcomes for this position include: achieving designated financial and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, community partnerships, as well as increasing Walk-brand awareness and visibility in the community.This role is additionally responsible for all aspects of coordination and execution of corporate initiatives.This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus!Responsibilities:Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Generate growth of sponsors by utilizing, adapting and creating successful sales/recruitment strategies to expand the Chapter’s revenue.Create and adapt networking and outreach efforts to identify and recruit new corporate prospects, convert prospects into fundraising teams, and develop and maintain a robust year-round prospect pipeline.Through all networks, prospect, cultivate and steward Walk to End Alzheimer’s sponsors to achieve development goalsBuild relationships with key volunteers, participants, sponsors and community leaders as well as existing and new corporate partners.Execute plan for maximizing team participation to achieve revenue goals by retaining existing teams, attracting new ones from all sectors of the community and by providing fundraising guidance and support as assigned by VP Development.Maintain year-round relationships with key corporate sponsors and constituents to ensure involvement in all relevant chapter activities and recognition opportunities.Responsible for the Chapter’s revenue goals related to the four Walk to End Alzheimer’s and The Longest Day eventsAssure Chapter compliance with Alzheimer’s Association policies, standards and regulatory requirements.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience5 years of proven experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goalsPreferred peer-to-peer fundraising experience or equivalent sales backgroundPreferred Corporate/sponsorship fundraising experience, preferably in peer to peer fundraisingKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Confident, goal-oriented, positive self-starter able to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with internal and external partnersDemonstrated management skills, including the ability to set clear goals, organize projects, establish and manage budgets, and establish accountability processesDemonstrated ability to form and develop corporate relationships and partnershipsAbility to manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacyAbility to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusionExcellent interpersonal skills including verbal and writtenAbility and willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory by car, train and other means. Travel in this case, is considered time spent away from the office, in the community, to fulfill the job goals.While most such travel is same day, occasional overnight travel or air travel may be required. Must have valid driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance.Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for the jobAbility to bend, stoop, lift and transport up to 25 lbs of materialsStrong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn, Luminate/Convio software
