Position Summary:The Outreach Specialist will be primarily responsible for conducting outreach in the community to raise awareness of and promote the PACE program. The Outreach Specialist will participate in events and fairs within the community. This position will work collaboratively with the Enrollment Specialists with the goal of increasing census within the program.Essential Functions of the Job:Conduct targeted outreach and training to community-based organizations under the direction of the Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator.Participate in events/fairs that could potentially result in partnerships for San Diego PACE.Maintain tracking logs of outreach efforts.Work collaboratively with the Marketing Coordinator to develop outreach strategies.Develop and maintain reports to assess and analyze outreach activities for the purpose of maximizing enrollment.Additional Duties and Responsibilities:Develop rapport, establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels and from varying cultural and ethnic backgrounds.Work independently and with team members using effective time management and project planning skills.Provide exceptional customer service.Prepare written reports and maintain accurate records.Remain knowledgeable of San Ysidro Health & PACE programs and services.Provide tours of the program when necessary and once fully trained; facilitate presentations in the community.Working evenings and weekends may be required for special events/meetings.Other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:Education Required:High school diploma or equivalent required.Education Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or other related field preferred.Experience Required:At least 2 years’ experience working in a customer service role.Knowledge on how to create contacts and generate a referral source.Comfortable with monthly goals and productivity metrics.Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to cultivate and build positive relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders.Health care experience and experience marketing to ethnic populations a plus.Excellent writing and presentation skills required.Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and multi-task.Strategic thinker with analytical skills.Strong MS Office and computer skills are required.Experience Preferred:Principles and practices of health care service delivery, managed care, health care systems.Appropriate sales and marketing techniques to outreach to diverse social and ethnic groups and to communicate effectively with them.Knowledge of and/or experience with HMO, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, Medicare, and senior care related sales and marketing experience.Systems and procedures to efficiently track and trend all sales activity.Knowledge and/or experience with the senior care market, including competitors, regulations, and available resources.Certifications/Licenses Required:CA valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Proof of current vehicle insurance (if applicable).Must take and pass the State of California DHCS PACE and Medi-Cal Marketing Certification exam within 60 days of hire.Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:Must possess the skills necessary to provide care for geriatric patients, thrive in a team environment, and possess good organizational skills to effectively handle difficult and unusual interpersonal situations.Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by SYHC PACE and approved by CMS.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:Mobile position but would require work in an office environment.Universal Requirements:Pre-employment requirements include I-9, physical, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new hire orientation, pre-employment PPDs.About Us: San Ysidro Health is a Federally Qualified Health Care organization committed to providing high quality, compassionate, accessible and affordable healthcare services for the entire family.
