Employee Type:Job Summary:The jitney driver will provide transportation services in the Waterville area so students can attend various appointments and visit area businesses. The driver will be expected to respond to calls for service in a timely and professional manner. The ability to coordinate several stops in the most efficient manner is a must. We encourage inquiries from candidates who will contribute to the diversity of our College, including its cultural and ethnic diversity.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESJitney driver must be capable of managing drop off and pick up points in an efficient mannerProvide informational assistance and promote good public relationsPickup and deliver mail twice a day to and from off campus facilitiesMaintain an alertness for suspicious activities during shiftParticipate in on-the-job trainingAttend scheduled staff meetings and training sessionsMaintain confidential of medical and mental health appointmentsEnforce College policies and complete necessary reports and paperworkDisplay exemplary customer service skills and ensure positive interactions with the communityPerform additional duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without noticeQUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required; professional coursework or post-secondary education a plusValid class C driver's license - capable of driving a minivan and occasional a 10 passenger van, and must meet Colby's Fleet Safety Policy requirementsMust present a neat, clean, and professional imageAbility to be reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfill obligationsAdditional training and certifications in First Aid and CPR and First Responder Training preferredWell-developed public relations skills; able to perform duties in a flexible, non-confrontational environment; work with members of a diverse community; and utilize diplomacy and tact in dealing with sensitive situationsA working knowledge of Waterville streets and the ability to navigate around the area in an efficient mannerEffectively operate a variety of equipment including portable/mobile radios and computersExcellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to complete clear, concise, and accurate logs, reports, and other documentationAbility to make an impact through work as a member of a team and diverse community

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

This position has significant interactions with students, and occasionally faculty, staff, and other outside constituencies.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General campus environment. Position involves frequent movement. Employee must be able to sit and drive for long periods of time. Some lifting and computer use possible.
