LG Chem is actively searching for a Business Development Manager - Open Innovation

to join our team based in Santa Clara, CA. This is an individual contributor role whose job is mainly to review the potential of various options for

Open Innovation

and foster them by forming ideas to developing it in communication with internal stakeholders at HQ across business divisions. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResearch and analyze the industry that are being pursued as LGC's current/future business areas to identify the core technologies that can win the marketExplore and analyze the technology, companies (startups, SME, etc.) in the aspect of commercializationScout the technologies that have a close fit to LGC's strategy especially focusing on North America region for potential collaboration (ex. joint development, JV, etc.)Attend major conferences, exhibitions and form a network with potential collaborators and customersConduct market/technology intelligence and provide the intelligence report that provides the up-to-date trends of the emerging technologiesCommunicate with HQ to suggest/develop potential opportunitiesQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES: WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications/What We Need to See

Bachelor's degree required in science, engineering, above master degree preferred3-5 years of experience in Open Innovation, technology scouting, market intelligence, Chemical/Technical productsPreferred Qualifications/What We'd Like to See

Preferably battery material , petrochemical related industries experienceThe Ideal candidate will have:

Strong verbal and written communication skillsSkilled in analyzing and writing reportsSkilled in use of basic office software (Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
