Finance Director . The hiring range for this position is $72,000 – $85,000 plus excellent benefits. Knowledge and experience in bookkeeping and generally accepted principles of governmental accounting is a must.Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Finance Director independently performs a variety of complex supervisory, professional, analytical, and technical duties related to the Accounting and Finance functions of the Park District. Responsibilities include:AccountingAnnual auditAccounts payableBudgetCash managementAssisting in special projects as assignedQualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. At least 3 years of increasingly responsible accounting experience in fiscal management, municipal accounting, or in a closely related field is required, including at least two years of experience at a management or policy-making level with supervisory responsibility for management and professional staff.This position is salaried and exempt under FLSA. It is required to work onsite.The successful candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of the principles and theory of accounting and auditing as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB) standards. The Finance Director will regularly interact with elected officials and department heads and must be an approachable and collaborative team builder who possesses open and positive communication skills.Position will be open until filled.
