NSU cares about the health and welfare of its students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors and is a tobacco-free university.NSU considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, disability, political affiliation or belief, national origin, marital or veteran status or any other legally protected status.Essential Job Functions:Teaching:Provides high quality instruction in field of expertise, ensuring students meet course outcomes.Plans, evaluates, and revises curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction.Prepares course materials, such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other required records.Assists students who need extra help with their coursework outside of class.Supervises laboratory sessions and classroom discussions.Advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues.Director Duties:Oversees the clinical care initiatives of the PG Periodontics program.Facilitates the clinical experience for students.Develops and reviews clinic policies and procedures.Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Comprehensive knowledge of Dental Medicine.Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design.Ability to communicate effectively.Active Learning and Critical Thinking skills.Required Certifications/Licensures:Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Periodontology from CODA accredited institution.Certification in administering Intravenous Conscious Sedation.Required Education:
Doctoral Degree (DDS/DMD) or foreign equivalent dental degree.Required Experience:
Professional doctoral-level teaching experience.Preferred Qualifications:Board certified from the American Board of Periodontology.Master's degree or Ph.D. degree accompanied by a substantial publication record in the field of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.Is this a safety sensitive position?
