The Tax Payment Specialist prepares and files the quarterly and year-end California and federal NRA tax forms and provides NRA and sales tax guidance to the Getty community. Additionally, the Tax Payment Specialist prepares and submits all 1099 and 1042 forms.Major Job ResponsibilitiesPrepares and files California & IRS NRA quarterly/annual tax return.Monitors federal and state withholdings and makes necessary payments.Responsible for the preparation and submission of all 1099 and 1042 forms.Analyzes payments routed to processing (invoice status will be updated to show NRA) queue for tax liability and provides reporting and/or withholding instructions.Analyzes and verifies vendor information for accuracy and appropriate tax classification related to withholding and sales and use tax.Prepares and maintains NRA vendor and NRA tax files and ITIN application in Glacier NRA software.Applies for ITINs on behalf of NRA grantees, consultants, and entertainers.Serves as Getty liaison with the IRS ITIN division.Coordinates annual scholar tax workshop.Acts as primary contact and resource for program personnel with NRA and sales tax questions.Trains staff and attends NRA and sales tax seminars.Reviews and verifies tax information for tax treaty eligibility.QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GEDBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3-5 years experience with tax accountingKnowledgeable of Federal and State tax rules, regulations regarding compensatory and non-compensatory payments to non-resident aliens, and non-resident alien tax issuesExperience with tax treaties preferredCertified as an IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent and a SEVIS responsible partyKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent customer service/interpersonal skillsStrong computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software, email applications, and financial reporting systems applicationsBenefits and PerksHere are just some examples that Getty offers/provides for full-time employees:Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance coverage, starting on date of hire.
