The University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) Medical School, Department of Pediatrics and Division of Infectious Diseases, is seeking a Pediatric Infectious Diseases physician for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank to serve as the assistant hospital epidemiologist and Medical Director of Pediatric Infection Control at M Health Masonic Children's Hospital. The physician will participate in the clinical, research, and teaching activities of the Division of Infectious Diseases. Clinical responsibilities will include providing coverage of inpatient consultation services and outpatient clinical practice. Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate's area of specialty/research expertise and to teach fellows, residents, and medical students.The Medical Director collaborates with and supports the University of Minnesota Medical Center Hospital Epidemiologist and Executive Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control to maintain the hospital's infection control plan including but not limited to executing institutional initiatives, providing expert guidance on development of infection control policies, leading epidemiologic and infectious diseases outbreak investigations, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.The

Faculty in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases not only treat children - they also advance the health of children worldwide by leading groundbreaking research into the pathogenesis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases.
