Develop low-level flight software for microcontrollers, create reusable device drivers, integrate system-level features and architect changes to support an ever-growing codebaseDevelop hardware drivers to interface to various sensors such as Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs)Contribute to hardware-in-the-loop testing to verify and validate combined software and hardware functionalityQuickly debug and troubleshoot issues that span the electrical, firmware, and software boundariesHelp select microcontrollers and peripherals and review schematics with electrical engineering teamREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

BS or MS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent industry experienceStrong C coding ability for embedded systemsDemonstrated experience developing embedded software for autonomous flight vehiclesAdvanced competency in real-time embedded software control systemsExperience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensorsExperience developing firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environmentsDebugging skills with JTAG, SWD, Oscilloscopes, and Logic analyzersSolid understanding and application of coding best practices, board bring up and debuggingSolid experience with common bus protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, ARINC-825, RS232/485, EthernetWilling to travel ~50% to partner with firmware team in Costa MesaU.S. Persons status is required as this position needs to access export controlled dataPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with flight software such as ArdupilotExperience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, etc.)Have a bias for action. If you see a problem, you want to solve and fix itBe naturally curious about the technologies and tools you use
