Network Engineer IIYour role:As a Network Engineer II, you will be responsible for engineering and support of the network at all our Ardent Mills locations. This position also requires the development of the overall network design, systems integrations, and implementation strategies. Additionally, the position is responsible for documenting all network standards, procedures, and changes. The qualified candidate should be highly proficient with, but not limited to, Cisco routing and switching, HP/Aruba or Cisco wireless, Cisco Viptela SDWAN platform, Palo Alto firewalls, network Quality of Service (QoS), and network management using Cisco DNAC, Solarwinds Orion, or similar platforms. Demonstrate professional and personal leadership by taking ownership and performing the appropriate levels of due diligence and communication.Your responsibilities:Plans, coordinates, evaluates, and implements key enterprise systems - network hardware and software.Takes initiative to provide high level IT recommendations, best practices, assessments, and risk analysis.Evaluates new enterprise hardware and software technology to advance Ardent Mills technical and business leadership.Responsible for design and implementation of infrastructure networking and related systems including Cisco routers and switches, Cisco SDWAN, Cisco and Aruba wireless, and other platforms as required.Work with other Infrastructure teams to develop/manage cloud network design.Assists with the design fiber/copper cable plant and server room layout.Utilizes Cisco DNAC, Solarwinds, Splunk, and other network management tools to monitor health, manage device configurations, and troubleshoot problems.Develops and implements policies and procedures as they relate to network technology.Demonstrates willingness to educate and train Tier1/Tier2 staff.Acts as Tier2/Tier3 support as needed.Contributes to technical and professional development of the network team and support staff.Participates in an on-call rotation.Performs periodic routine tasks to ensure systems are functioning optimally and to ensure compliance with various regulatory mandates.Coordinates with other IT functions to develop and implement technical solutions.Essential skills and experience:10+ years of network engineering and support experience.Experience with scripting for network configuration management.Intermediate knowledge of Information Security best practices.Good knowledge of General Project Management Methodology & Tools.Experience with RADIUS and TACACS authentication.Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly document processes and standards.Azure networking design and services.Good to have:Cisco CCNP or higher certification is preferred.Cisco or Aruba wireless certification is a plus.Other considerations:Travels to offsite conferences, trainings and other events when necessary.Travels to remote Ardent Mills locations when necessary.Ardent Mills is an equal opportunity employer.
