AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Annapurna Labs as part of AWS, is looking for a System Hardware Lead to be part of defining, shaping, and integrating solutions to the next generation of our cloud platforms.

We are looking for an exceptional engineer who will own developing, testing, and monitoring the manufacturing health of Amazon Graviton server products, and will be part of a team that integrates new silicon, hardware, firmware, and software into a revolutionary system architecture.

Key job responsibilities

Define and provide feedback to design of Graviton servers and server components.Work with design partners and manufacturer sites to enable the manufacturing of the Graviton server.Review, identify, and qualify second source electrical components to enable continuity of supply.Continuously assess process capabilities and innovate to simplify processes, reduce cost, and shorten cycle time of Graviton server development and manufacturing.Collaborate with cross-functional team members to gain knowledge and improve product design, processes, and quality.Work with upstream vendors and downstream customers to optimize the entire value stream and put together joint processes that will lead to better cost and cycle time.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.At least 10 years experience leading hardware products from design to mass production: life cycle, components selection, schematic/layout/thermal/mechanical design/review, hardware-software interfaces, production testing.At least 10 years’ experience in high-speed board design and practical hardware lab.Design/lab experience at least at one of the following interfaces: DDR4/5, PCIE Gen3/4/5, 100/25/10GbE, SATA3; practical experience with high-speed lab equipment.Willing to travel 3-4 times a year, 1 week duration.Practical experience with Bash/Python scripts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Networking / Storage / Linux.Knowledge and understanding of server architecture and design.Technical leadership, matrix work with multiple teams.
