About The Job

Red Hat's North American Public Sector Services team is looking for a Senior Consultant with a background in application migration and release engineering to join us remotely in San Diego. In this role, you'll deliver solutions that solve business challenges through hands-on technical implementation and enablement of recommended practices. You will be a vital promoter of adopting Red Hat's solutions for customers by using your technical expertise and interpersonal skills. You’ll need to have a blend of solid technical experience, awareness of open source solutions, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and solve issues at the enterprise level.

This position requires daily on-site work with clients located in the San Diego, CA area and an active Top Secret w/ SCI clearance. A willingness to travel to other customer locations when necessary is also required.

Understanding of how to build production-ready technical solutions integrated with existing enterprise systemsLearn technologies and consulting skills to enhance your abilities through enablements designed and taught by Red Hat experts and Red Hat certificationGain exposure and collaboration within Red Hat Services & the larger organization through everyday networking and community eventsWithin six months, be ready to support customer success on a project by attaining the following:

Successful, collaborative delivery of customer projects as a technical lead through expertise in Red Hat’s technologiesKnowledge of how a customer use case can be developed into a project plan and how those requirements align with Red Hat’s technologiesContinue expanding your knowledge and network, both internal and external, through enablement, communities, customers, and meet-upsWithin 12 months, begin to demonstrate technical leadership by accomplishing the following:

Successfully implementing complex, large-scale solutions in customer environmentsActive engagement and knowledge sharing with our internal and external communities of practice on lessons learned, best practices, and how-tosWhat You Will Bring

Active Top Secret w/ SCI security clearanceExperience with delivering an implementation based on an architectural designDemonstrated ability to lead a technical project, including collaborating on project timelines and maintaining project and technical documentationAbility to identify stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of workExperience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholdersKnowledge and a desire to mentorExperience with deploying or writing applications for one or more application platformsExperience with automated release engineering, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment concepts and toolsExperience with Linux system administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivativeExperience releasing and migrating to Kubernetes or other declarative/container platformsExperience with GitOps and declarative process automationExperience with blue-green, canary, and rolling deployment strategiesExperience with application data migration and minimal downtime strategies for high-profile applicationsExperience with application dependency management systems like MavenExperience with dependency and release management repositories like Nexus, Artifactory, etc.Ability to articulate why declarative dependency management systems should be used over lumping everything together into one giant projectExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsAssociate or Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a technical disciplineSalary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $133,570.00 - $220,260.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
