Job SummaryWorks with Process R&D, Manufacturing Technology to develop Basic Data and then evaluate and translate technology alternatives into conceptual design. Assist in defining the business needs through asset foot-printing and business selection processes (options, size, scale, cost, and schedule). Reviews and evaluates non-capital alternatives (i.e., tolling, existing facilities). Work closely with business, finance, Investment Engineering, and Manufacturing Technology to develop economics and risk of alternatives.Responsibilities/Description :Semi-Independently Interface with the business and project sponsors to develop an understanding of the business objectives that will be translated to investment options to evaluate.Interfaces and integrates with Process R&D and Manufacturing Technology with minimal assistance to understand the basic process and level of process development.Identifies, at a conceptual level, with minimal assistance from others in Engineering and Manufacturing Technology, the machinery, equipment, supplies, and facilities necessary to operate a larger pilot or commercial unit/plant running that basic process.Prepares preliminary flow diagrams and mass balances, equipment layouts, and collects information about scope based on potential siting options with minimal assistance from others in Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies.Interfaces with Process R&D and Manufacturing to develop process modeling, select technologies, and evaluate site selection where necessary.Develop Order of Magnitude capital and cost associated with capital estimates (+/- 50%) for all options to be developed with limited assistance from Investment Engineering.Support the development of Gate-1 quality (+/- 30%) with limited support from Investment Engineering.Identify Scenarios that are not feasible and quickly eliminate them with limited support from Engineering.Evaluate alternatives in equipment selection and configuration, unit operations, raw materials, catalysts or other accelerants, materials of construction, operating conditions with some assistance from Engineering and Manufacturing Technology to develop recommendations about feasibility of scaling up the process.Organize and retain all evaluation cases so that future scope or technology iterations can take advantage of work that was potentially included in an earlier case.Influences the Business and Project sponsors with limited assistance from others in Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies to align on the best solutions to address the business objectives even if the best solution is non-capital in nature.Effectively communicates the alignment of business objectives, the scenarios to evaluate, the results from the evaluation, and the selected scenarios.Requirements :BS Engineering Degree: advanced degree is a plus.Strong technical background in Manufacturing Technology (Process, Life Sciences, Mechanical).Strong understanding of the Capital Execution process (CEP).Ability to define basic data and conceptual scope requirements.Ability to develop E5 (+/- 50%) and E4 (+/- 30%) quality estimates.Ability to manage a high degree of ambiguity and uncertainty.Experience in Project Management preferably as a Project Manager.Experience in Process Engineering and Manufacturing Technology.Experience developing E5 (+/- 50%) and E4 (+/- 30%) quality estimates.We are a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, offering our customers a broader range of natural solutions and accelerating our growth strategy.
