Job Description
Scope:
Assists newly arrived refugees and other qualified immigrants attain self-sufficiency through employment by guiding them through employment preparation, coordinating job placements, other career advancement services, as well as barrier removal case management.
Responsibilities:
Conduct intake, assessment and program orientation for clients eligible for employment services. Develop comprehensive employment plans and budget strategies for each employable adult.
Develop and cultivate long term relationships with area employers and staffing agencies to identify appropriate employment opportunities for clients.
Assist clients and employers as necessary with post-placement issues and continuing employment needs.
Monitor client job performance and wage.
Detail each client interaction in accordance with program requirements. Input client information in database(s) and assist with tracking and reporting as needed.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with coworkers, across programs, and partner organizations. Build and maintain relationships with area service providers for the benefit of clients.
Provide case management to remove barriers to employment and self sufficiency.
Work effectively with and supervise volunteers, and interns.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
Two years’ professional experience in workforce development.
Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.
Cultural sensitivity and good cross communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Ability to effectively communicate and work as a team member in a cross cultural environment.
Must have a valid driver’s license, active insurance policy; and access to reliable transportation.
