To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. Our MK2 Crew Lander mission will demonstrate the lander's core capabilities - including the privately funded BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and integrated power and propulsion architecture - as a precursor to certifying the vehicle for use by NASA as part of the Artemis lunar exploration program. The team building this vehicle is rethinking how space systems are designed, with a high-performance architecture, efficient reusability, and rapid design iteration. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Special MentionsRelocation providedOccasional travel up to 15% of the time1st Shift: 8am - 5pmInterviews will include a technical assessmentResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Complete life cycle of the valves from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operationDesign the next generation of cryogenic valves for use on our Lunar program and perform 1st order analyses to verify your designsComplete trade studies to quantify valve design optionsTechnical leadership of small teams working part design, CAD, testing and analysis of valvesWork with suppliers or Blue Origin groups to identify and procure componentsWork with support organizations to procure, fabricate, and install flight hardwareProvide day to day tasking, support and mentorship to entry level engineersPerform technical peer reviews of productsQualifications:B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field10+ years of experience in valve and or mechanical+fluids component designKnowledge of propulsion and fluid system components (i.e. valves, regulators and pumps for cryogenics, propellants, and other fluids)Experience designing parts in CREOBackground in GD&T to create manufacturable, high performing component drawingsExperience using design analysis tools such as ANSYS and Thermal Desktop to evaluate the performance of your designsAbility to define and support testing of your design, conduct data analysis and iterate your designAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:Advanced Engineering degreeExperience designing valves/mechanisms for fluids systemsKnowledge of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and toleranceCompensation Range:CA applicants: $136,467.00-$191,053.80; CO applicants: $125,480.25-$175,672.35; WA applicants: $136,467.00-$191,053.80Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.Inclusivity Statement:Don't meet all desired requirements?
