Intern Position Summary: EVgo’s mission is to expedite mass adoption of electric vehicles by creating a convenient, reliable, and affordable electric vehicle charging network that delivers fast charging to everyone. To this end, the EVSE Engineering Software Development Intern will work on a focused and cross-functional engineering team responsible for developing EV charging products. The work will primarily involve developing the communication stack between the EV and EVSE, which conforms to charging standards DIN SPEC 70121 and ISO 15118. Responsibilities: Develop embedded software for EV and EVSE charging simulators Implement native C++ types for DIN SPEC 70121, ISO 15118-2, and ISO 15118-20 messages Incorporate EXI byte stream data in unit testing Estimate total effort for software feature development Maintain ownership of software features throughout the development life cycle Preferred Skills and Experience: Working knowledge of C or C++ Working knowledge of Linux as a software development tool Familiarity with network debugging tools such as Wireshark Familiarity with Python Experience writing software for an embedded environment, e.g., Raspberry Pi Strong technical writing and communication skills
