The Brewtorium Brewery & Kitchen is a 6-year-old locally-owned, community-focused brewery & restaurant. We are looking for a highly organized, communicative and goal-oriented General Manager to oversee the daily operations of the restaurant and help us take our operation to the next level. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a whole house mentality.
The GM will work closely with the owners, executive chef & front of house manager to hone and execute standard operating procedures that will ensure success. A passion for quality and customer service are key. A love and knowledge of craft beer & scratch food are a must.
Looking for a candidate with 3+ years of restaurant GM/AGM experience & the ability to work long hours while keeping a terrific attitude.
Restaurant General Manager Responsibilities:
Lead by example by being:
Punctual
Organized
Communicative
Efficient
Hire & help train new front of house staff (including bartenders, bar leads & food runners)
Uphold proper onboarding procedures for new employees & maintain employee handbook
Keep up with staff TABC & Food Handlers Certifications
Help develop and edit menus as needed
Engage with customers to gather feedback about their experience and resolve any issues
Motivate staff during busy shifts & large public events
Write Front of House weekly schedule
Maintain opening and closing procedures checklists for all FOH positions & ensure procedures are followed
Maintain inventory & ordering of bar supplies, glassware, cleaning supplies, guest alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages
Maintain up-to-date & accurate vendor contact information
Enter invoices into inventory management software each week
Utilize financial reporting tools to present accurate & insightful reports and translate them into actions.
Work well with chef & kitchen staff as well as all front of house staff & owners
Hold weekly management meeting with owners & chef
Prepare relevant, actionable agenda items for the management meeting each week (including weekly sales, loss & labor reports, HR concerns, items of import that have been documented in the manager log/shift notes, etc)
Hold weekly meetings with lead bartenders to discuss any new items, concerns, etc.
Manage the entire restaurant during peak times (weekends and some weekdays dinner rush shifts)
Complete manager log during/after each management shift
Complete tip reporting daily
Check tips & hour reports for accuracy before payroll every 2 weeks
Maintain & update front of house training materials
Help develop marketing & operational strategies to grow The Brewtorium as a whole
Help plan and run all public events
Work with brewers & CEO to develop beer and sensory training program for bar staff
Work with chef to develop and market specials
